Congresswoman Robin Kelly submitted the following community projects for funding in the FY2024 Appropriations bill. 

Congresswoman Robin Kelly has submitted the following requests to the Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies for the FY2024 Appropriations bill, Financial Disclosures and Federal Nexus Statements are linked in the titles: 

 

Project Title: Rantoul Youth Center Facilities Renovation Project – Village of Rantoul, IL

Address: 333 S. Tanner St., Rantoul, IL 61866

Agency/Bureau: USDA-Rural Development

Account: Rural Housing Service

Program: Rural Community Facilities Program

Summary: The funding request of $540,000.00 would be used for making upgrades to the Rantoul Youth Center that include the kitchen prep and serving area, relocation of the freezers and refrigeration, finishes to the main dining room, and updating existing offices and the gymnasium.

Project Title: Boys & Girls Club of Livingston County Intergenerational Center in Fairbury, IL, (Livingston County)

Address: 1303 E. Indiana Ave., Pontiac, IL 61764

Agency/Bureau: USDA-Rural Development

Program: Rural Community Facilities Program

Summary: The funding request of $1,000,000.00 would be used for bringing a 17,700 square foot intergenerational community center to promote interaction and cooperation between individuals of different ages and focus on the needs of all residents, especially children and older adults.

Project Title: Village of Lansing Regional Emergency Operations Center

Project Title: Village of Lansing Regional Emergency Operations Center (“EOC”) - Village of Lansing, IL

Summary: The Village of Lansing (“Village”) is requesting $868,639.00 to fulfill the Village's Emergency Operations Center’s (“EOC”) goal to deliver emergency dispatch services with professionalism, integrity and exceptional customer service to the Village's citizens and neighboring communities by the Village's first responders as immediately and efficiently as possible. The proposed new Public Works facility constructed on existing Village property located at the northeast corner of South Burnham Avenue and 170th Street and would house a new EOC and command room.  

Congresswoman Robin Kelly submitted two CPF requests under the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies FY2024 Appropriations bill.

Project Title: South Suburban Association of Chief’s of Police Task Force Enhancement and Technology Upgrade Program – Homewood, IL

Summary: The $900,000.00 in funding would be used for technology, training, and equipment for numerous task forces such as the South Suburban Emergency Response Team (SSERT), the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force (SSMCTF), and the Suburban Major Accident Response Team (SMART).

 

Project Title: Village of Phoenix Police Department 2024 Community Funding Application – Village of Phoenix, IL

Summary: The $143,298.00 in funding would be used to improve technology and purchase safety equipment in an effort to make the village safer for officers and residents.

 

Congresswoman Robin Kelly submitted one request under the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies FY2024 Appropriations bill.

Project Title: Environmental Infrastructure Project - Cook County and Lake County, IL

Program: General

Requested Amount: $6,000,000.00

Summary: I am requesting $6,000,000.00 in funding for this project which would provide technical planning, design and construction assistance to non-federal interests who have environmental infrastructure needs in Cook County and Lake County, Illinois. The proposed project will replace water mains that are aged and deteriorated. In addition, it will improve storm and sanitary sewers in various areas in Cook County such as Villages of Flossmoor, Lansing, Steger and Calumet City.

Project Title: David Bradley Industrial Park Incubator Rehabilitation Project – Bradley, IL

Program: Economic Development Initiatives

Summary: The $5,000,000.00 in funding would be used for the buildings at the David Bradley Industrial Park, which are 125 years old, and need substantial structural improvements including roof replacement/repairs, parking lot reconstruction, and loading dock and elevator restoration to ensure safe working conditions for current employers.

Project Title: City of Danville Madison Neighborhood Revitalization Project – Danville, IL

Summary: The $2,000,000.00 in funding would be used to revitalize the Madison Neighborhood to provide better qualities of housing and infrastructure, remove blight, and more -accessible public services to increase the quality of life and economic productivity of the area.

Project Title: Burnham Avenue Grade Separation Project – Burnham, IL

Summary: The $1,500,000.00 in funding would be used to eliminate the existing at-grade crossing of Burnham Avenue and CSX Transportation, Norfolk Southern Railway, and Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation (NICTD) railroads, increasing community connectivity between the City of Chicago and its near-by South Suburbs while improving pedestrian safety, traffic flow, and efficient movement of freight.

Project Title: Respond Now Food Pantry Expansion Project – Chicago Heights, IL

Summary: The $1,300,000.00 in funding would be used to support the expansion of the food pantry into a shopping market experience, allowing those who visit our food pantry to directly choose their food as if they were at a grocery store.

Project Title: The Link & Option Center Doula Housing and Services Project for Pregnant and New Moms – South Holland, IL

Summary: The $750,000.00 in funding would be used to acquire a multi-unit building to provide Housing and Services for Pregnant and New Moms in the 2nd Congressional District.

Summary: The $525,250.00 in funding would be used to renovate its facility in Riverdale, Illinois, to operate as a Community Center serving both Riverdale and Chicago’s Roseland community with a wide array of services.

Project Title: Eastern Will County Truck Routing Project – Monee and Crete, IL

Summary: The $1,500,000.00 in funding would be used for designing and constructing improvements along the Crete-Monee Corridor that will support truck travel, increase safety and be built to appropriate standards for heavy truck utilization.

Project Title: Jackson Park Historic Burnham Building Restoration – Chicago, IL
