The Democratic Socialist Caucus of the Chicago City Council is being called out for statements in favor of Palestinians following the Hamas attack.

“The next time we vote, remember these are the local socialist representatives of an organization that justifies the murder, rape and kidnapping of women and children. Second from right is also the floor leader of city council. Chosen by our mayor in all his wisdom,” Stuart Loren said on X.

Loren linked to a photo of Chicago City Council Democratic Socialist Caucus members Daniel la Spata, Rossana Rodriguez Sanchez, Byron Sigcho Lopez, Carlos Ramirez-Rosa and Jeannette Taylor posing with a raised fist salute.

“They can disavow the hateful message of their national organization, but thus far have either remained silent or posted support. This is not a situation where moral equivalency holds. There is no justification for the brutal images and videos we have all seen. None,” Loren added in another post on X.

The statement comes in the days following the terrorist attack on innocent Israelis by Hamas.

Israel has released graphic images of slain children and civilians to garner international support in the aftermath of a Hamas attack, which killed over 1,300 people.

The images were shown to U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and NATO defense ministers, according to Reuters.

Sigcho Lopez, who represents the 25th Ward, reposted an image of a Palestinian flag.

“This. To achieve peace, occupation has to end,” Rodriguez, the 33rd Ward Alderman, said in a post following the attack.

Rodriguez’s comments were reposted by Ramirez-Rosa who represents the 35th Ward. .
