City of Prospect Heights Fire/Police Commission met Aug. 30.

CALL TO ORDER - At 4:04 PM, Chairman Hoffman called to order the August 30, 2023 Regular Fire Police Commission Meeting at City Hall, 8 North Elmhurst Road, Prospect Heights, IL 60070.
ROLL CALL - Deputy Clerk Schultheis called roll. A quorum was present.
COMMISSIONERS PRESENT - Chairman Hoffman, Commissioner Riebman
ABSENT - Commissioner Fiorito with previous notification
OTHER OFFICIALS PRESENT - Police Chief Caponigro, Deputy Chief Derman, Deputy Clerk Schultheis
MOTION TO ALLOW COMMISSIONER FIORITO TO ATTEND EXECUTIVE SESSION REMOTELY – Chairman Hoffman moved to allow Commissioner Fiorito attend Executive Session remotely; seconded by Commissioner Riebman.

A. Updating Rules and Regulations of the Police Fire and Police Commissioners - discussion of possibility of approval of amendments - Chief Caponigro said that the items could be discussed in closed session. No action will be taken.
B. Discussion of Lateral Candidate Qualifications - Chief Caponigro said that the items could be discussed in closed session. No action will be taken.
C. Authorization to the Police Chief to continue to make conditional offer to lateral police officer next candidate on the list until a candidate accepts the conditional offer -
Chairman Hoffman moved to authorize Chief Caponigro to continue to make conditional offer to lateral police officer next candidate on the list until a candidate accepts the conditional offer; seconded by Commissioner Riebman.

The Next Regular Meeting of the Fire Police Commission is scheduled for Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 4 PM, City Hall, 8 North Elmhurst Road, Prospect Heights, IL 60070.
ADJOURNMENT OF OPEN SESSION AND MOTION TO GO INTO CLOSED SESSION AT 4:15 PM TO CONDUCT INTERVIEW OF POLICE LATERAL CANDIDATE RICHARD HERDUS - At 4:10 PM, Chairman Hoffman moved to Adjourn the Open Session and go into Closed Session at 4:15 PM to conduct an interview of lateral police candidate Richard Herdus and discuss lateral candidate qualifications; seconded by Commissioner Riebman.
