City of Wheaton Board of Fire & Police Commissioners met Sept. 12.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

I. Call to Order

At 5:00 p.m., Chair Illia called to order the regular meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. The meeting was held in the Gamon Room at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton, Illinois. Upon roll call, the following were present: Chair Illia, Commissioner Vroman, Commissioner Wanzenberg, and Commissioner Haines. Also present were Police Chief Murphy, Deputy Chief Youker, Deputy Chief Conway, Police Lieutenant Gabryel, and Human Resources Director Schulz. Commissioner Canova was absent.

II. Public Comment - None 

III. Approval of Minutes 

Commissioner Wanzenberg moved, and Commissioner Vroman seconded to approve the meeting minutes from June 6, 2023.

Nays: None

Absent: Commissioner Canova

V. New Business - 

a. Receive report for Quarterly Review-End of Probation for Sergeant Justin Sanchez 

Commissioner Wanzenberg moved, and Commissioner Haines seconded receipt and approval of the Quarterly Review of Sergeant Justin Sanchez.

VI. Closed Session

At 5:07pm Commissioner Haines motioned, and Commissioner Wanzenberg seconded the motion to go into closed session for the purpose of interviewing Police Commander Candidates.
