Family physician, psychologist, and renowned author Dr. Leonard Sax said parents who are not exercising their authority and choosing instead to “let kids decide" are making "a big mistake.”
“Parents think letting kids decide, making all the big choices from an early age will help them to become more mature,” Dr. Leonard Sax told Dan Proft on the Counter Culture Podcast. “But it's not, because it's not age appropriate.”
“I show both in ‘The Collapse of Parenting,’ but even more so in my book, ‘Boys Adrift,’ that the result of letting the kids make all the big calls is boys who are not leaving home, boys who demonstrate a failure to launch,” Sax said.
