Frederick Walls, the Illinois GOP candidate for the 34th District House Representative and owner of "Highly Flavored Chicago," is slated to be a featured speaker at an upcoming event titled "Empower Your Child’s Future Through Informed Choices." The event is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 21, from 3-6 p.m.
The Christian Home Educators Support System (CHESS) in Illinois is organizing the event. It promises a blend of fellowship, food, and an informative workshop on the power of parental choice in education. Those interested in attending can register at scil2024.eventbrite.com or contact the organizers at 773-814-6843 or info@chessup.org.
Walls has been a strong advocate for empowering parents in their children’s education. His advocacy for school choice aligns with a broader movement in Illinois and across the nation, where parents are increasingly recognizing the importance of having a say in their children’s education. The event is expected to draw attention not only to Walls’ candidacy but also to the wider conversation about the future of education in Illinois.
This gathering comes following the discontinuation of the Invest in Kids Scholarship Tax Credit Program that served 9,600 needy school children attending private schools.
According to Kankakee Times, Walls works as a journeyman carpenter at Walsh Construction Company. He completed his high school education at Calumet and Hillcrest High Schools between 1986 and 1990. After four years at the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters trade school, he graduated successfully. Born and raised on the south side of Chicago until he was 16, Walls later moved with his parents to Country Club Hills' suburban area.
