“ I was at a ball game on 11-9-23 in Elmwood and approached by the Mayor of Elmwood, (JD). He asked me if I heard what happened a few days ago and I said no. He told me a Michael Smith ran over a street sign and mailbox in Elmwood, then 5 to 10 minutes later was back with 2 sign posts. Then a few minutes later the Village of Yates City’s service truck pulled up to where the signs were ran over. So on 11-10-23 @ 11:30 a.m. I met Bill at the Waterworks building and asked Bill if he knew anything about this and why the Villages service truck was in Elmwood. He told me Michael Smith was his brother’s stepson and he gave him a Village of Yates City owned sign post. He then stated he went to the place the sign and mailbox were ran over. I told Bill that Village owned property cannot be given away. He then apologized and said he shouldn’t have done it.”

Matt Ehens made a motion for dismissal of Bill Emerick from the Yates City Waterworks Dept. for the giving away of City property effective right away, Seth Lekies second motion. Roll call unanimous.
