Major General Rich Neely, the Commander of the Illinois National Guard, will officially retire after 40 years of service this May. Governor J.B. Pritzker announced the retirement, stating, "Congratulations to Major General Rich Neely, the Commander of the Illinois National Guard, on your Retirement!"
Neely's retirement marks the end of a long and distinguished career dedicated to serving the nation and the state of Illinois. In response to the announcement, a message of appreciation was shared, "Thank you for your service to our nation and the state of Illinois, General!"
