A top Denver official is asking illegal aliens who have invaded that city to leave for Chicago, which he promises have better taxpayer-funded benefits for them.

Andres Carrera, political director for Denver Mayor Mike Johnson, was recorded speaking to a newly arrived bunch of illegals last week.

“New York gives you more, Chicago gives you more, so I suggested you go there, where there is a longer term shelter,” Carrera said to a group of illegal aliens. “There are also more job opportunities there. We have received too many migrants and that is why we ran out of resources.”

“No, look, we are not going to block you if you want to stay here,” Carrera said. “I am not here to block you. I am here to let you know that your path is not over. If you stay here you are going to suffer even more and I don’t want to see this.”

Chicago has a “Welcoming City Ordinance” which makes the city a Sanctuary City. This means the city does not ask about immigration status, disclose immigration status information to authorities, or withhold city services based on immigration status. City officials also do not partner with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to apprehend residents who are living in the country illegally.

While Colorado is not a sanctuary state like Illinois, the Denver city officials have passed ordinances similar to those of Chicago and have made public statements supporting the influx of migrants, such as Mayor Mike Johnston’s recent decision to cut $5 million from different areas of the city budget to increase funding for immigration relief programs.
