The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) has announced updated traffic impacts due to two ongoing pavement repair projects on North and South DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

For the section from Irving Park to LaSalle Drive, three southbound lanes will be closed overnight from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. starting May 27 until May 28. From May 28 through May 31, three southbound lanes will continue to be closed overnight from 6:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., with one lane remaining closed throughout the week.

On South DuSable Lake Shore Drive, between Roosevelt and 31st Street, southbound lane closures will occur from May 28 to May 29. Two lanes will be closed daily from 4 p.m. to 9 a.m., while three lanes will be closed during daytime working hours between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. From May 30 to May 31, northbound lane closures will follow the same schedule.

The CDOT cautions that these schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances.

Drivers are advised by CDOT "to plan ahead and allow extra time when traveling on DLSD, take alternate routes if possible, and encourage people to use public transportation." Additionally, drivers should "pay close attention to flaggers and construction signage when entering and driving near work zones, obey the posted speed limits, drive with extra caution, and be alert for workers and equipment."
