The Chicago Department of Housing (DOH) has approved an ordinance to facilitate the sale of a property located at 1251 S Sawyer Ave, along with two vacant parcels at 1214-1232 S Kedzie Ave and 1242-1256 S Kedzie Ave, to the Chicago House & Social Service Agency (CHASSA). The ordinance also allows for the transfer of the Regulatory Agreement and Land Use Restriction Agreement (LURA) to CHASSA.

Sawyer Properties, also known as Phoenix House Apartments, is a 32-unit studio apartment building that maintains affordability at 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for vulnerable populations affected by AIDS/HIV. The sale aims to continue providing stable and affordable housing solutions for those in need.
