A new round of Community Development Grants (CDG) is being made available through the Department of Planning and Development (DPD), Commissioner Ciere Boatright announced today. The grants can cover up to 75% of eligible costs involving new construction, rehabilitation, or both.
Grant uses may include hard costs, soft costs, and acquisition costs. Private and non-profit developers, property owners, and businesses are eligible to apply. Funding is provided through proceeds from the Housing and Economic Development bond and other sources.
Applications are evaluated using criteria based on a project’s anticipated impact, location, site characteristics, uses, documentation, and financing. DPD also reviews applications for potential issues related to zoning, design, and historic preservation.
Additional information, submission resources, and program applications are available online at www.cityofchicago.org/CDG.
