CHICAGO (Sept. 17, 2024) – Chicago Fire FC and U.S. Soccer announced today that Chicago Fire Academy defender Hugo Berg, forward Darris Hyte, and midfielder Roko Pehar have been called to the U.S. U-16 Men’s Youth National Team for a training camp to be held from Sept. 15-22 in Fayetteville, Ga.

It is the first call-up for the trio under new head coach Alex Aldaz and the second time they have attended a U.S. Youth National Team camp together. The three players were previously called to represent the U.S. during a U-15 USMYNT training camp in April in Kennesaw, Ga.

Berg and Hyte most recently participated in the Vlatko Markovic Tournament in Northern Croatia in May, where they faced Croatia, England, and Morocco before defeating Japan 1-0 in the tournament final.

Berg and Hyte were also part of the U-15 Chicago Fire Academy team that won the 2024 U-15 MLS NEXT Cup with a 3-1 victory against LA Galaxy at GEODIS Park in Nashville, Tenn. Hyte scored the team's third goal of the match and was named 2024 U-15 MLS NEXT Cup Most Valuable Player. Pehar did not participate in the tournament due to injury.
