CHICAGO – Chicago Fire FC II and MLS NEXT Pro have announced that Chicago Fire Academy goalkeeper Patrick Los has been named the MLS NEXT Rising Star of Matchweek 17. This recognition follows his performance in a 1-0 victory over Chattanooga FC on July 5.
At 17 years old, Los received his first league honor of the year after achieving his third shutout of the season during the match against Chattanooga FC, which is second in their division. He made six saves, including a crucial one in the 83rd minute that preserved the lead established by forward Jason Shokalook’s goal in the 52nd minute. This victory marked Chicago Fire II's seventh win of the season and their third away from home, maintaining their position in fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
This accolade marks Los' third personal award within MLS NEXT Pro. He previously earned the Goalkeeper of the Month award for March and June in 2024. Currently, he is tied with New York Red Bulls II goalkeeper Aidan Stokes for saving three penalty kicks this season and ranks fifth with a total of 51 saves across 15 matches. For Chicago Fire II, this is their fourth honor in 2025; they have been named MLS NEXT Pro Team of the Matchweek three times, most recently during Matchweek 16.
Chicago Fire FC II is set to face New England Revolution II at SeatGeek Stadium on Sunday, July 13. The game will begin at 1:00 p.m. CT, with free admission for fans and live streaming available on MLSNEXTPro.com.
