Chicago Fire FC fell 2-0 to CF Montréal on Saturday night at Stade Saputo. The match saw goals from Josef Martínez in the 21st minute and Caden Clark in the 74th minute. Despite out-shooting Montréal 13-11 and holding 52 percent of possession, Chicago was unable to score against Jonathan Sirois.

With this result, Chicago remains five points below the playoff line with three matches left in the regular season.

Chicago's next match is at home against Toronto FC on Saturday, Sept. 28, at SeatGeek Stadium due to a scheduling conflict with the Chicago Bears. Tickets are available for purchase, and the game will be broadcast globally on MLS Season Pass and locally in Spanish on WRTO 1200 AM and in English on wlsam.com.

Key notes from the match include goalkeeper Chris Brady tying his single-season career high with his 30th start of the season. Midfielder Fabian Herbers made his 150th appearance for Chicago Fire FC, becoming the 13th player in club history to reach this milestone. Defender Justin Reynolds recorded his fifth appearance for Chicago Fire First Team and appeared in back-to-back regular season matches for the first time.

Ariel Lassiter played a full 90 minutes against his former club, marking his third consecutive start since joining Chicago Fire FC in August. Several players were unavailable due to injuries or personal reasons: Allan Arigoni, Rafael Czichos, Chase Gasper, Andrew Gutman, Carlos Terán (all leg injuries), and forward Hugo Cuypers who was absent due to family reasons.

The box score showed that CF Montréal scored through Martínez (assisted by Saliba) and Clark (assisted by Opoku). Discipline included a yellow card for Campbell from CF Montréal.

Attendance at Stade Saputo was reported as 19,619 with Lukasz Szpala officiating as referee.
