Chicago approves sale and transfer ordinance for Karibuni Place

The Chicago Department of Housing (DOH) has approved an ordinance for the sale and transfer of Karibuni Place, located at 8200 S Ellis. This decision includes the assumption of the regulatory agreement, loan documents, and existing associated city debt.

Karibuni Place is a four-story brick building that accommodates 72 residents. The property aims to offer permanent supportive housing with services for formerly homeless individuals. It comprises 60 studio units at 50% Area Median Income (AMI), 11 one-bedroom units at 80% AMI, and one one-bedroom unit at market rate.
