The Chicago Hounds secured a 38-21 victory over the NOLA Gold on Saturday in New Orleans, thanks to a strong second-half performance. The Hounds improved their record to 2-3-1 with this win.

Chicago's slow start saw them unable to capitalize on early possession deep in NOLA territory. The Gold scored first when hooker Augusto Bohme crossed the line in the 13th minute, followed by a successful conversion kick that made it 7-0.

After the first half water break, Chicago responded with James Scott scoring his first Major League Rugby try, reducing NOLA's lead to two points. However, just before halftime, Ed Fidow extended NOLA's advantage with a try after several offloads, and a successful kick brought the score to 14-5 at halftime.

In the second half, Chicago quickly reduced the deficit through Ignacio Peculo’s try and Adriaan Carelse’s conversion. Although NOLA briefly extended their lead via Luke Campbell's try and conversion, they failed to score for the rest of the match.

Dylan Fawsitt then led Chicago's comeback with two tries from mauls in quick succession. With Carelse converting both tries, Chicago took a five-point lead. Janus Venter added another maul try after replacing Fawsitt, extending their lead further following another successful kick from Carelse.

James Scott scored his second try of the game in its final moments through yet another maul effort by Chicago. Despite missing the last conversion attempt, Chicago ended Week 6 with a decisive win over NOLA.
