Mike Quigley, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Illinois' 5th District, shared several messages on social media concerning civic engagement and public safety. Quigley has been serving in Congress since 2009, following his tenure on the Cook County Board of Commissioners. He resides in Chicago and is an alumnus of Roosevelt University and Loyola University, Chicago.

On November 5, 2024, Quigley urged constituents to participate in the electoral process by stating: "Your vote is your voice. Today, I encourage everyone in Illinois' 5th District and around the country to head to the polls and make your voice heard!" He provided a link for voters to find their polling places.

Later that day, he addressed a tragic incident involving a police officer: "Officer Martinez was only 26 years old. I hope to see the justice system hold his shooter accountable. Violence in our city is unacceptable and we must work harder to ensure our residents and officers are safe from harm." Quigley expressed condolences to Officer Martinez's family and friends.

On November 6, 2024, Quigley reiterated his commitment to defending various freedoms: "I've consistently focused on protecting & expanding our freedoms – from economic freedom to the freedom to make personal reproductive decisions to the freedom to vote." He mentioned his collaboration with the New Democrat Coalition under the hashtag #NewDemFreedomAgenda.
