Mike Quigley, a U.S. Congressman representing Illinois' 5th district since 2009, has been active on social media discussing significant historical and contemporary issues. Quigley, who succeeded Rahm Emanuel in Congress, has a background that includes serving on the Cook County Board of Commissioners from 1998 to 2009. He is known for his educational achievements from Roosevelt University and Loyola University.

On November 8, 2024, Quigley acknowledged Native American Heritage Month by stating: "During Native American Heritage Month, we recognize and honor the countless ways that Native Americans have shaped this nation’s past, present and future."

The following day, November 9, he marked the anniversary of Kristallnacht with a reflective post: "Today marks the anniversary of Kristallnacht, when Nazi forces targeted Jewish communities in Germany & Austria. Over 1,000 synagogues were destroyed, businesses looted, and 30,000 Jewish men arrested. We must never forget."

Later on November 9, Quigley informed his followers about the ACA Open Enrollment period: "During the ACA Open Enrollment, people can sign up for or make changes to their health insurance plans through the Health Insurance Marketplace! You must enroll by December 15 for coverage that starts on January 1."
