Congresswoman Delia C. Ramirez, representing Illinois’ 3rd district in the U.S. Congress since 2023, has been actively voicing her commitment to addressing issues affecting veterans through a series of tweets posted on November 19, 2024. Ramirez, who succeeded Marie Newman and previously served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2018 to 2022, is focusing on legislative measures to support veterans' housing, education, and healthcare needs.

On November 19, 2024, Ramirez highlighted the issue of veteran homelessness by stating: "With 32,000 veterans still unhoused, we must ensure every veteran has a place to call home. That's why I'm introducing legislation focused on addressing veteran homelessness."

In another tweet from the same day, she addressed the financial burdens faced by veterans pursuing education: "No veteran should be crushed by crippling debt just to fulfill their dreams of an education. Education is a benefit our nation promised them! I'm committed to passing legislation that restores education benefits and eases the burden high interest rate loans have on student…"

Ramirez also emphasized the need for accessible healthcare for veterans without financial strain or treatment delays: "No veteran should have to make the tough choice of paying for vital health care or next month's rent. My colleagues and I are committing to ensuring veterans have access to affordable health care without financial burden or delays in treatment."
