Midway Partnership and the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) have announced the opening of three new retail locations at Chicago Midway International Airport. These stores, operated by Hudson, include two Hudson retail outlets and a Fannie May chocolate shop. Hudson, known for its travel convenience and specialty retail stores across North America, is expanding its presence at Midway to enhance the travel experience.

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson expressed his support for the new additions, stating, "I join Commissioner Rhee and CDA in welcoming Fannie May and two new Hudson shops to Midway's growing concessions program." He emphasized that these openings reflect a commitment to equitable business opportunities with the city's airports.

CDA Commissioner Jamie L. Rhee highlighted the importance of local ownership in these ventures: “By bringing in concessions offerings from diverse, local ownership groups, we are investing in Chicago’s communities while working to create an enhanced travel experience for all passengers.”

The expansion includes two new Hudson locations situated in Baggage Claim and Concourse C. As North America's largest travel essentials brand, Hudson offers a variety of products including snacks, beverages, electronics, books, and more. The new locations aim to meet travelers' diverse needs.

Additionally, Concourse A now hosts a Fannie May store. Founded in 1920 by H. Teller Archibald in Chicago, Fannie May has become renowned for its gourmet chocolates.

Sammy Patel, CEO of Midway Partnership, commented on the transformation at Midway: “The mix of amenities ensures everyone has what they need. Our focus remains on creating a seamless, stress-free travel experience while ensuring passengers feel connected to Chicago’s rich culture and flavors."

Since 2017, Midway Partnership has invested over $75 million into transforming Midway's concessions program. This investment has introduced more than 70 dining and retail brands to the airport and expanded the total concessions area by approximately 30,000 square feet. The number of concessions jobs is projected to double from 700 to 1,400.

The CDA operates one of the world's busiest airport systems with O'Hare and Midway International Airports serving nearly 100 million passengers annually without using local or state tax dollars for operations or improvements.

Midway Partnership is comprised of Vantage Group, SSP America, and Hudson. Their efforts aim to position Chicago Midway as a leading international airport while enhancing passenger experiences.
