FOIA Request to Illinois Secretary of State Regarding Details on Contract #424SL388050 with Vendor METROPOLITAN ASIAN FAMILY on January 27, 2025.

In a bid to uphold transparency and accountability in public institutions, we at Chicago City Wire have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Illinois Secretary of State. The request, made under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140, seeks detailed information regarding Contract #424SL388050 between the METROPOLITAN ASIAN FAMILY and the SECRETARY OF STATE.

Specifically, we are requesting documentation that verifies the scope of work performed under this contract, deliverables completed, and any reports or evaluations related to it. This is part of our commitment as a media organization to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.

We believe that access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. As members of the media involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we have also requested for a fee waiver as media professionals.
