One week into its operation, the Endeavor Health Performance Center has been met with positive feedback from Chicago Fire FC players and staff. The new training facility, located in Chicago's Near West Side, opened to high expectations after extensive preparations for the team's return from preseason activities in Florida.
Defender Carlos Terán expressed his satisfaction with the facility, stating through a translator, "It's the best in the country." He added that it was his first experience at a high-performance center of such scale and he found it impressive.
Players have praised various features of the facility, including a state-of-the-art gym and spacious locker room. The sauna is particularly anticipated for post-training recovery. Additionally, both players and support staff appreciated the view of Chicago's skyline from the training grounds.
Philip Zinckernagel, a newcomer from Belgium's Club Brugge, noted that the facility was part of what attracted him to join Chicago Fire FC. "They want to build a world-class Club with the best facilities," he said.
Director of Football and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter emphasized that the performance center reflects owner Joe Mansueto’s commitment to improving the club. Berhalter described it as "one of the top facilities in America, if not the world," highlighting its role in player development.
Zinckernagel echoed this sentiment by stating that having top-notch facilities is essential for player growth. He referred to it as a gift for every team member.
Terán shared his enthusiasm about spending time at the club’s new home base: "I don’t mind being at the Club all day," he said. He looks forward to enjoying more time there throughout victories during their season.
