Boyd Memorial Hospital has announced the addition of Dana Longmeyer, DNP, FNP-BC, to its team at the Carrollton Rural Health Clinic. With over two decades of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner and a strong background in nursing education, Longmeyer is expected to be an asset to the hospital's staff.
Longmeyer's career began in 2001 as a Family Nurse Practitioner working with Dr. Reid, Dr. Adams, and Dr. Mapue. Her professional journey includes providing care through Boyd Healthcare Services, Springfield Memorial, Madison County Health Department, and Greene County Health Department. She also contributed significantly by establishing a Nurse-Managed Walk-in Clinic at Lewis and Clark Community College.
In addition to her clinical work, Longmeyer spent 20 years educating future nurses as a full-time professor at Lewis and Clark Community College from 2003 to 2023 and served as an adjunct faculty member at McKendree University.
Her educational qualifications include an Associate Degree in Nursing from Lewis and Clark Community College (1991), a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McKendree University (1999), a Master of Science in Nursing from Southern Illinois University (2001), and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from McKendree University (2021).
“The most fulfilling aspect of being a nurse practitioner is the ability to help others and to hopefully have a positive impact on someone’s life,” said Longmeyer. She aims to continue her mission of patient-centered care in Carrollton and nearby areas.
