Congresswoman Delia C. Ramirez, representing Illinois' 3rd district, has taken to social media to express her concerns regarding the actions of Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump in relation to veterans' data and national security. Her series of tweets highlights issues she perceives as threats to privacy and governance.

On February 11, 2025, Ramirez tweeted about her concerns over former President Trump's decision to allow a billionaire access to veterans' private data. She stated, "Trump let an unaccountable billionaire access our veterans' private data." She emphasized Congress's role in oversight and accountability by requesting the Inspector General open an investigation into Musk's access to Veterans Affairs (VA) and veteran data.

Later that day, Ramirez questioned the existing checks and balances in place against perceived threats from Elon Musk. She posted on social media at 23:55:20 UTC saying, "What are the checks and balances we have in place?" In her tweet, she urged for the use of every committee available to address what she describes as "the greatest threat to the homeland," accompanied by the hashtag #FireElonMusk.

In another tweet on February 12, 2025, Ramirez criticized Musk's plans for the nation by drawing parallels with his management of Twitter. At 01:00:53 UTC she stated, "Musk plans to do with our nation what he did to Twitter:" followed by a list suggesting workforce cuts, economic decline, and rebranding towards alt-right ideologies.
