Congresswoman Delia C. Ramirez, representing Illinois' 3rd district, has taken to social media to express her concerns on various issues affecting children and veterans. Her recent tweets address family separation policies, the impact of budget cuts on veterans, and the oversight of immigrant detention facilities.

On February 19, 2025, Congresswoman Ramirez highlighted the plight of separated families and immigrant children without legal representation. She stated: "1,300 children are STILL separated from their families with no way back to their loved ones. Now, 26,000 immigrant children, too young to read or speak, will face the unknown without legal representation. Stripping children of legal advocates is shameful."

The following day, February 20, she addressed concerns about the effects of certain political agendas on veterans. In her words: "The Musk-Trump agenda is an assault on our veterans! Approx. 30% of the federal workforce are veterans. My colleagues and I demanding to know how budget cuts and mass firing are affecting our veterans, their jobs, and access to their services and benefits."

Later that same day, she expressed her disapproval regarding immigrant detention facilities located in sensitive areas without proper oversight: "There should not be an immigrant detention facility on a military base, offshore, in a foreign country, without oversight. PERIOD."
