On March 5, 2025, Schakowsky expressed support for immigrants in the United States by emphasizing the nation's history as a "nation of immigrants" and highlighting the benefits that immigration brings to the country and its economy. She urged immigrants facing harassment from federal law enforcement to "know your rights." "The United States is and has always been a nation of immigrants, and our country and economy benefit from immigration."

In another post on the same day, Schakowsky criticized former President Donald Trump's fiscal policies. She claimed that Trump aimed to reduce essential benefits in favor of providing tax cuts to billionaires. She reminded followers about those present at Trump's inauguration while advocating for taxing the wealthy with hashtags like #TaxTheRich. "Trump wants to gut your lifesaving benefits to give tax cuts to billionaires and the ultra-wealthy."

Further addressing economic concerns, Schakowsky condemned tariffs imposed by Trump on Canada and Mexico. She argued these tariffs would increase prices on goods such as cars and eggs, raising annual costs for families by nearly $2,000.
