Congresswoman Delia C. Ramirez, representing Illinois’ 3rd district since 2023, shared her concerns on social media regarding issues affecting veterans and education. Ramirez has a history of public service, having previously served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2018 to 2022.
On March 21, 2025, Congresswoman Ramirez expressed her disapproval of VA Secretary Collins' stance on veteran housing. She stated that "VA Secretary Collins CLAIMS to care about getting veterans housed." However, she criticized the VA for opposing a bill aimed at improving the HUD-VASH program's capacity to house unhoused veterans.
In another post on the same day, Ramirez addressed former President Donald Trump's decision regarding the Department of Education. She remarked that "Trump’s decision to dismantle the Department of Education is an attack on our civil rights." She recounted her discussions with Black and Brown students who felt targeted by these changes.
Continuing her critique, she warned against Trump's educational policies which could further state-led agendas perceived as discriminatory. In her words, "Trump's decisions would allow states to advance the racist Project 2025 agenda." Ramirez emphasized ongoing efforts to ensure every child receives a quality education.
