Mike Quigley, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 5th district since 2009, recently shared his concerns and observations through a series of tweets. Quigley, who succeeded Rahm Emanuel and previously served on the Cook County Board of Commissioners, addressed several pressing issues related to public health and education policy.

On March 22, 2025, Quigley expressed his apprehension regarding potential changes within the Trump Administration. He stated, "Earlier this week, we got word that the Trump Administration might eliminate the CDC's Division of HIV Prevention. We've come miles in HIV treatment and prevention and a future without HIV is finally in sight. Ending HIV prevention programming now will jeopardize everything we've".

Later that day, Quigley voiced his opposition to what he perceives as an assault on educational institutions by stating, "The Trump administration's attack on the Department of Education undermines the future for students and threatens the foundation of our nation's success. We must protect public education and ensure every child has access to the opportunities they deserve."

On March 23, 2025, he commemorated a significant milestone in healthcare legislation with a tweet celebrating an important anniversary: "Today we celebrate the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act. Since 2010, it has helped over 40M Americans gain coverage, expanded Medicaid, lowered prescription costs, and reduced racial & economic disparities in healthcare. I’m proud to keep fighting for health equity."
