Congresswoman Delia C. Ramirez, a representative of Illinois’ 3rd district, recently shared her views and updates via a series of tweets. Her communications addressed critical issues, ranging from housing rights to international legal concerns, and operational details of her congressional office.

On April 11, 2025, Ramirez commemorated the 57th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act, emphasizing the importance of housing as a fundamental right. Referring to this milestone, she asserted, "Housing is a human right. Punto." She highlighted the law's significance in safeguarding renters and homeowners from discrimination, urging continued efforts to ensure everyone has access to safe housing.

In a tweet later the same day, Ramirez addressed recent mass deportations to El Salvador's CECOT prison. She described these actions as "deplorable," citing violations of both U.S. and international law due to the lack of due process. Ramirez stated, "@NydiaVelazquez & I wrote to Sec. of State Marco Rubio demanding answers and an end to the inhumane transfer." Her comments came as reports surfaced about military activities related to these deportations.

Early on April 12, 2025, Ramirez informed her constituents about the closure of her offices for spring recess from April 14 to April 18. She offered guidance for emergencies, stating, "#IL03, my offices will be closed from Monday, April 14 - Friday, April 18 for spring recess..." Constituents were advised to leave messages in case of urgent matters, with assurance of follow-up after the recess.

Delia Ramirez is currently serving in the U.S. Congress, representing Illinois’ 3rd district. She has held this position since 2023, following her tenure in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2018 to 2022. Born in Chicago in 1983, the 39-year-old congresswoman completed her education at Northeastern Illinois University with a BA and has been actively engaged in addressing both local and international issues from her Chicago base.
