Viva, Mexico's ultra-low-cost airline, has announced a new international service linking Chicago O'Hare International Airport to Mexico City's Felipe Ángeles International Airport. This direct route, beginning on November 13, will operate three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Flights will leave Mexico City at 6:10 PM, arriving in Chicago by 10:15 PM, with return flights departing Chicago at 11:45 PM and reaching Mexico City at 4:00 AM.

Viva aims to strengthen its presence in the U.S. Midwest, providing travelers with more options to visit Mexico. The airline already offers flights from Chicago to several locations in Mexico, including León, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Morelia, and Monterrey.

Jamie L. Rhee, Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Aviation, stated, “On behalf of Mayor Brandon Johnson, the Chicago Department of Aviation is proud to welcome Viva's new seasonal service between O’Hare International Airport and Felipe Ángeles International Airport, serving Greater Mexico City.” She also highlighted that the route enhances accessibility and deepens Chicago's cultural and economic bond with Mexico.

Javier Suárez, Viva's Executive Vice President of Strategy, Planning & Alliances, said, “We are thrilled to launch our new route from Chicago to the brand-new Mexico City International Airport,” emphasizing Viva's commitment to offering competitive fares and quality service for various travelers, from leisure to small businesses.

The service will allow passengers from Chicago to connect to over 30 destinations with Viva at AIFA, where the airline plans to have 38 routes by the end of 2025. Viva operates with a fleet of 93 A320 and A321 aircraft, noted as one of the newest and most competitive in North America.
