4. Approval of Agenda: Lynette approved; Mike seconded.
5. Approval of Minutes: Randy moved; Mike seconded.
6. New Business: none
7. Old Business:
Make Music Wheaton: Vittoris contacted CUSD 200, which has 87 employees in music departments. She will follow up with Alyssa Barry, CUSD 200 Head of Community Engagement. Lewis reported we currently have 17 musicians and 7 venues. Opening ceremony will likely be Friday June 20th 6p-8p. Cost will be $360 which would include two staff for 4 hours. We would like to Ask Mayor to open the ceremony and find some bands to play. Lynette suggested maybe having a judged contest to decide who plays. She will start outreach. Lewis thinks that in the future we could possibly hold or own music weekend in June to avoid the MMW set date, which would eventually move to week days. Publicity for this event is imperative. Vittoria suggested having musicians check-in at event. We can possibly hand out flyers at Cream of Wheaton, French Market, Business Expo
Public Mural Update: Randy reported that RFP went out and he received one response. Right now, we are unable to proceed with light show part of mural at the scale first desired. We may be able to do something at a smaller scale. Randy thinks as technology changes prices may come down. Lewis will look in to the possibility of JCS allowing us to slightly change the terms of the grant to a smaller project, because we lose the JCS grant if we don’t use it by Fall. Perhaps a temporary light show to drum up interest. Randy will ask mural artist (Peru) the cost of doing the whole wall.
8. Commissioner Comments:
9. Adjournment: Randy moved; Vittoria seconded. Meeting adjourned 6:53p
