The Cook County Sheriff's Office, via its official social media platform, released several updates related to law enforcement activities and community support initiatives. These updates were shared on April 24th and 25th, 2025, providing insights into recent law enforcement actions, upcoming community events, and departmental recruitment efforts.

On April 24, 2025, Sheriff’s Police officers arrested a 17-year-old juvenile following a routine traffic stop near 81st Street and Champlain Avenue in Chicago’s East Chatham neighborhood. The juvenile was reportedly found in possession of a firearm equipped with a laser and an extended magazine loaded with 24 rounds.

Later on April 24th, the Cook County Sheriff's Office announced that they would be joining forces with the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office for an event named Missing Persons Day, scheduled for Saturday, May 10th. The event is intended to provide valuable resources and support to the community, assisted by representatives from the Missing Persons Unit.

The following day, on April 25, 2025, the Cook County Sheriff's Office made an announcement inviting applications for lateral transfers for Correctional Officers. It emphasizes the opportunity for individuals holding an Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board certification to join the agency.
