St. Bernard Hospital has been awarded an A grade for patient safety by The Leapfrog Group in its Spring 2025 Hospital Safety Grades. This distinction follows a zero-infection performance in 2024 concerning several significant health concerns.

According to the hospital, the A grade reflects their dedication to patient safety, clinical excellence, and transformative care. The hospital's efforts in infection control were particularly notable, achieving zero instances of central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI), catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI), MRSA infections, surgical site infections (SSI), hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPI), and falls resulting in serious injury.

Additionally, St. Bernard Hospital achieved a reduction in sepsis mortality from 19% to 6% over four years. The hospital emphasizes that these improvements translate into lives saved and families preserved.

The hospital attributes the A grade to "the work of every team member at St. Bernard Hospital," stating that their success is based on "disciplined practice, innovation and a culture that refuses to compromise when it comes to safety and quality."

St. Bernard Hospital continues to strive for transparency and excellence in providing high-quality care to the community.
