The Chicago Hounds improved their season record to 8-3 with a victory over the Miami Sharks, winning 14-7 on Sunday afternoon. The match took place at SeatGeek Stadium under challenging weather conditions, including rain and wind. Dylan Fawsitt and Luke White scored tries for the Hounds, while Chris Hilsenbeck contributed four points with two conversion kicks.

The game remained scoreless for the first half hour as both teams struggled to capitalize on their opportunities. Just before halftime, the Sharks managed to score a try through hooker Kirby Myhill after the Hounds committed two penalties in quick succession. Santiago Videla's successful conversion gave Miami a 7-0 lead going into halftime.

In the second half, the Hounds initially found it difficult to coordinate their attack but showcased dominance in scrums when reserve loosehead prop Zurabi Zhvania entered in the 48th minute. This advantage led to a penalty win and eventually resulted in Luke White scoring from a scrum, tying the game at 7 after Hilsenbeck's conversion.

The turning point came in the 63rd minute when another penalty by Miami allowed Chicago to launch an effective maul from a lineout. Fawsitt completed this effort by scoring his sixth try of the season, putting Chicago ahead.

Despite late attempts by Miami to breach Chicago's defense, they were unsuccessful. The victory solidified Chicago's position in second place within the Eastern Conference with 38 points. They will face conference leaders New England Free Jacks next week, who currently hold 40 points.
