The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) has announced the return of the Chicago Farmers Markets and Maxwell Street for the 2025 season. Running from May through October, these events will provide fresh produce, local artisanal goods, and multicultural programming across Chicago neighborhoods.
Chicago's longest-running farmers market at Daley Plaza will operate weekly from May 22 to October 23, featuring over 40 vendors. The market will also host a special Seed Swap and Seedling Sale on May 29. "Maxwell Street and the Farmers Markets are more than just places to shop—they’re cultural hubs and living pieces of Chicago’s heritage," said DCASE Commissioner Clinée Hedspeth.
New vendors such as Vangie’s Farm and Taste of India join returning favorites at Daley Plaza. The Link Match program allows SNAP benefits users to stretch their dollars further at the market.
Maxwell Street Market will hold six themed days from May through October, offering vintage finds, crafts, food, live entertainment, and walking tours. Vendor applications are open at MaxwellStreetMarket.us.
Parking is available nearby with public transit access via Halsted Street station. For more information, visit MaxwellStreetMarket.us or follow on social media.
Maxwell Street is produced by DCASE with sponsorship from the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA).
