The Board has announced proposed amendments to its Rules and Regulations following a vote at its May 2025 meeting. The changes aim to align the Rules with recent updates to the City's lobbying laws, adjust pronoun usage, account for the removal of the former Office of Legislative Inspector General, streamline notification processes, and introduce a new Rule allowing the Department of Law to settle matters post-investigation by the Office of Inspector General.

Public feedback on these amendments is invited until June 13, 2025. Comments should be sent via email to Executive Director Steve Berlin at steve.berlin@cityofchicago.org. The Board plans to review all input and finalize a draft for submission to the City Council during its June 16, 2025 meeting. According to §2-156-380(h), if approved, the revised Rules would take effect 45 days after submission unless disapproved by a majority vote in the City Council.
