An eggroll manufacturer is planning to expand its operations with the help of a proposed $859,238 Neighborhood Opportunity Fund grant. Mayor Brandon Johnson presented this proposal to the City Council today.

Twisted Eggroll intends to use the funds to acquire and renovate a 6,500-square-foot building located at 657 E. 75th St., which is currently vacant and owned by the Cook County Land Bank. The facility will be used for food manufacturing, catering, and retail sales. This expansion project, valued at $1.4 million, aims to create up to 10 full-time jobs.

Founded in 2015, Twisted Eggroll specializes in producing both fresh and frozen eggrolls.

The Neighborhood Opportunity Fund is designed to support commercial corridor investments on Chicago's South, Southwest, and West sides by allocating fees from downtown construction projects. Any grant exceeding $250,000 requires approval from the City Council.
