Chicago Fire FC II secured a 1-1 draw against Carolina Core FC at Truist Point in High Point, North Carolina. The match, held on Saturday night, saw Chicago's defender Chase Gasper score his first goal in MLS NEXT Pro to equalize the game in the first half. Goalkeeper Patrick Los made a crucial save during the shootout, helping Chicago earn an additional point.

Carolina took an early lead with Facundo Canete scoring from a corner kick in the fifth minute. Chicago leveled the score before halftime when Trip Fleming was fouled, leading to a free kick. Claudio Cassano delivered a precise ball that Gasper headed into the net.

David Tchetchao returned for Chicago as a substitute after recovering from an injury sustained nearly a year ago. Despite his presence, neither team scored again, and the match ended 1-1.

In the penalty shootout, Chicago won by making all four of their kicks. Trip Fleming sealed their victory with his final effort. Los's save against Canete's attempt concluded the shootout favorably for Chicago.

The next match for Chicago Fire FC II is scheduled against Inter Miami CF II on June 25. The game will be available globally via MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
