Chicago Hounds name Lucas Rumball Forward of the Year

The Chicago Hounds have announced Lucas Rumball as the team's 2025 Forward of the Year. This accolade is part of the team's End-of-Season awards, which recognize standout performances throughout the season.

Lucas Rumball, who serves as the Hounds' captain and is a capped-Canadian international, achieved career-highs in appearances and starts this year with 16 and 15 respectively, accumulating 1,066 minutes on the field. His offensive contributions included carrying the ball 152 times for 336 meters, overcoming 25 defenders, and making three clean line breaks. He also scored two tries, matching his previous record set in 2023.

Defensively, Rumball was notable for completing 218 out of his 227 tackle attempts. He made history by becoming the first Major League Rugby (MLR) player to record over 1,000 tackles. His effectiveness at disrupting opponents' plays was evident as he turned over possession from opponents on 24 occasions.

The announcement for other End-of-Season awards will continue with the Hounds naming their Rookie of the Year on July 3rd.
