The Chicago Hounds have announced Peyton Wall as the team's 2025 Rookie of the Year. This recognition is part of their End-of-Season awards. Wall, a wing player from Indiana University, was drafted by Chicago in the first round of the 2024 Draft with the tenth overall pick.
Wall made his Major League Rugby (MLR) debut in Week 12 against the Miami Sharks, where he played seven minutes and carried the ball once for nine meters. His first start came in Week 13 against the New England Free Jacks, during which he ran for 94 meters on eight carries and beat five defenders.
In Week 14, Wall gained further attention during a Monday Night Rugby game against Los Angeles. He achieved two line breaks, beat six defenders, and scored his first career try. In Week 15, Wall delivered an outstanding performance against Carolina with 11 carries for 142 meters and five clean line breaks.
By the end of his rookie season, Wall had appeared in seven games with six starts. He accumulated a total of 442 minutes on the field, scoring three tries on 50 carries and gaining 572 meters (averaging 11.4 meters per carry). He also achieved 12 clean line breaks and beat 32 defenders.
Additionally, Wall has been included in the USA Eagles' wider player pool as a non-traveling reserve for their July test match series.
