City of Wheaton Board of Fire & Police Commissioners met June 2
Here are the minutes provided by the commissioners:
I. Call to Order
At 5:00 p.m., Chair llIia called to order the regular meeting of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. The meeting was held in the Gamon Room at Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St., Wheaton, Illinois. Upon roll call, the following were present: Chair lllia, Commissioner Cannova, Commissioner Haines, and Commissioner Vroman. Also present were Deputy Chief Gabryel, Deputy Chief Conway, and Human Resources Director Holly Schulz.
Commissioner Wanzenberg was absent.
Public Comment — None
Approval of Minutes
a. Commissioner Haines moved, and Commissioner Vroman seconded the motion to approve the meeting minutes of May 29th, 2025

Ayes: Chair Illia
Commissioner Cannova
Commissioner Vroman
Commissioner Haines
Nays: None
Commissioner Wanzenberg was absent
The motion carried.
Old Business — None
New Business
a. Review Educational Waivers for Officer Turney and Officer Lolis
Commissioner Cannova moved, and Commissioner Vroman seconded the motion to approve the educational waiver extension for Officers Turney and Lolis. The motion passed unanimously.
VI. Closed Session
a. Entry Ievel Police Officer Candidate Interview 5ILCS 120/2(C)(21)
At 5:01 p.m., Commissioner Haines moved, and Commissioner Cannova seconded the motion to move into closed session for the purpose of interviewing Police Officer candidates. The motion passed unanimously.
At 7:27 p.m., Commissioner Cannova moved, and Commissioner Vroman seconded the motion to move out of closed session for the purpose of interviewing Police Officer candidates. The motion passed unanimously.
Vll. Approval of Final Entry Level Police Officer Eligibility List
Commissioner Cannova moved, and Commissioner Haines seconded the motion to approve the final Entry Lever Police Officer Eligibility List. The motion carried unanimously.
VIII. Adjournment
At 7:35 p.m., Commissioner Haines moved to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Cannova seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
