The Chicago Sky triumphed over the Dallas Wings with a final score of 87-76 during Allie Quigley's jersey retirement night. The game started as a close contest, with Kamilla Cardoso making an immediate impact upon her return from the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup by scoring six points in the first six minutes.
Despite being out-rebounded 12-4, Chicago maintained a tight game. Hailey Van Lith's stepback jumper gave them a slight edge at the end of the first quarter. Michaela Onyenwere and Rachel Banham's consecutive three-pointers helped extend their lead in the second quarter, while Rebecca Allen contributed significantly off the bench with 12 points.
In the third quarter, Allen continued her strong performance, hitting several challenging shots to help maintain Chicago's lead. Despite efforts from Dallas' Li Yueru, who achieved a career-high with four triples, Chicago held firm. Reese further extended their advantage with key plays in the fourth quarter.
Rebecca Allen led Chicago's scoring with 27 points in just as many minutes, nearly matching her career best. Reese recorded another double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Banham added 11 points.
Chicago's defense was crucial in limiting Dallas to just 36% shooting overall and only 26.9% from beyond the arc. They also effectively contained All-Star Paige Bueckers to five successful shots out of twenty attempts.
Reflecting on their victory, Allen commented on their progress: “I feel like we’re building... Every game is tough, but for us to take control and not lose our lead completely, that’s a big growth moment.” Banham highlighted their depth: “We’ve always felt that we had a deep team...”
The Sky improved their record to 6-13 and are set to face Minnesota Lynx next.
