The Chicago Sky faced a challenging game against the Minnesota Lynx, resulting in a 78-91 loss at Wintrust Arena on July 14. The match saw numerous lead changes and intense play, but the Lynx secured their victory with a strong fourth quarter.

Throughout the first half, both teams exchanged scores without establishing a significant lead. The Lynx excelled in three-point shooting during the first quarter, going 6 for 11. The Sky responded with a 13-2 run in the second quarter to lead 37-30 before Minnesota closed the gap to trail by two points at halftime.

In the third quarter, Minnesota took control with a 24-17 performance, leading into the final period ahead by five points. Despite efforts from Chicago, turnovers proved costly as they were outscored 23-15 in the last quarter. The Lynx forced 19 turnovers from Chicago while committing only 12 themselves, which contributed to their advantage in points off turnovers.

Chicago matched Minnesota closely in most areas of play. Both teams shot well from the field and beyond the arc, and they each collected 34 rebounds. However, Minnesota's superior ball movement was evident with their 27 assists compared to Chicago's 18.

Angel Reese stood out for Chicago with her ninth consecutive double-double of 22 points and ten rebounds. Rachel Banham added another fifteen points, while Rebecca Allen contributed ten points off the bench. Ariel Atkins made an impact before leaving due to injury in the second quarter.

For Minnesota, Napheesa Collier led all scorers with twenty-nine points and was supported by Courtney Williams' eighteen-point contribution. Kayla McBride added seventeen points for the Lynx.

Looking ahead to their next matchup against Atlanta Dream on July 16, minimizing turnovers will be crucial for Chicago's success. With Angel Reese maintaining her impressive form and Ariel Atkins potentially returning from injury, there is optimism for a strong finish before the all-star break.
