The Chicago Sky have signed free agent guard Sevgi Uzun to a contract for the remainder of the season, according to an announcement from the team.

“We’re excited to add a two-way point guard in Sevgi Uzun,” said Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca. “Uzun is a complete pro who is going to immediately contribute to the Chicago Sky. She’s played at a high level in the WNBA and overseas and will continue to prove to be a strong playmaker and defender.”

Uzun, 27, brings experience from her time in the WNBA, having played 47 games so far. In 2024, she was with the Dallas Wings where she appeared in all 40 games and started 19 times. During her rookie year, she averaged 4.4 points, 3.0 assists, and 0.9 steals per game.

Early in her tenure with Dallas, Uzun started her first 18 career games and posted averages of 6.8 points, 4.4 assists, 2.4 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and half a block per game while attempting over three three-pointers each outing.

One of her notable performances came on June 17, 2024 against Minnesota when she scored 17 points and had six assists. Last season she recorded six or more assists in six different games; this included an effort of 11 points and eight assists during a win over Los Angeles on May 26.

This season Uzun also played for the Phoenix Mercury, making seven appearances with totals of eleven points and fourteen assists.

Internationally, Uzun represented Turkey at the European Championships in 2025 where she averaged over seven points along with contributions across rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks over six games. She continues to play for Fenerbahce as well.

The Chicago Sky are scheduled to face Washington on July 29 before returning home for four consecutive games between August 1 and August 7.
