The Chicago Sky lost 86-103 to the Washington Mystics on Tuesday, July 29 at CareFirst Arena. The defeat marks the team's sixth consecutive loss.

Chicago started the game with an aggressive approach, taking an early lead after an 11-3 run. However, the Mystics responded with a 14-5 run in the second quarter and took control of the game. At halftime, Chicago trailed by eight points as Washington shot a season-best 58.8% from the field in the first half.

The third quarter was decisive as Washington increased their defensive pressure and pushed their lead into double digits following an 18-6 run. Chicago managed an 8-0 burst late in the third but could not shift momentum.

In the fourth quarter, Chicago reduced the deficit with a 13-5 run but was unable to close the gap further. By game's end, Washington had outscored Chicago by nine points in the second half. Turnovers were costly for Chicago; Washington converted ten turnovers into 26 points. The Mystics also scored 52 points in the paint, which is the most allowed by Chicago this season.

With only eight available players, Chicago's bench was outscored by Washington's reserves 21-7. Despite this, Chicago led in second-chance points with a margin of 12-7 and shot 45.1% from the field compared to Washington’s 50.7%.

Angel Reese recorded a double-double for Chicago with 22 points and 13 rebounds, adding three assists, three steals, and two blocks after returning from injury. Kamilla Cardoso also had a double-double with 21 points and ten rebounds. Rachel Banham contributed 19 points—including three three-pointers—alongside three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Rebecca Allen added ten points.

For Washington, rookie Sonia Citron scored a career-high 28 points with five made threes while Kiki Iriafen posted a double-double of her own with 22 points and ten rebounds. Citron and Iriafen became the first rookies in franchise history to each score at least twenty points in one game for Washington. Brittney Sykes added eighteen points along with six assists for Washington.

Chicago will return home to Wintrust Arena on Friday, August 1 to begin a four-game home stretch against Golden State Valkyries.
