Boyd Healthcare is dealing with a nationwide shortage of radiologists and radiologic technologists, an issue that has affected hospitals across the country. This shortage has led to delays in imaging report turnaround times and increased pressure on care teams.

Recently, Boyd Healthcare underwent a significant change in its radiology services. The hospital's long-term radiologist group, Clinical Radiologists, dissolved their organization and completed their final work for Boyd on July 31. On the same day, the hospital transitioned to a new partner for radiology services, Quincy Medical Group (QMG). The transition was managed by Brandi Martin, Director of Radiology at Boyd Healthcare.

"Brandi has been instrumental in guiding our department through this transition, navigating staffing shortages, service changes, and provider onboarding—all while keeping patient safety and quality at the forefront. Her dedication to our hospital, our patients, and her team has not gone unnoticed. Brandi has consistently gone above and beyond doing whatever it takes to keep things moving forward during a time of major change."

Hospital leadership also recognized the entire Radiology team for their efforts during this period. "To our entire Radiology team: thank you. Your resilience, adaptability, and continued focus on providing excellent care are what keep Boyd strong. You’ve handled a heavy workload, shifting priorities, and new workflows with professionalism and grace. We know it hasn’t been easy—and we are so grateful for the way you continue to serve our patients and support one another."

Boyd Healthcare plans to strengthen its partnership with QMG to address ongoing workforce challenges in radiology. The hospital remains committed to providing timely imaging services while adapting operations as needed.

"To Brandi and the entire Radiology Department: Thank you for all you have done and continue to do."
