Chicago Fire FC II has announced the loan of defender Diego Konincks to Valour F.C. for the rest of the 2025 season.

Konincks, 24, joined Chicago Fire in March 2024 after playing at Saint Louis University. During his time with Chicago Fire II, he served as captain for most of the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro regular season and started in 18 out of 19 matches, scoring once as a center back.

Earlier this year, Konincks participated in the club’s preseason activities, including matches against LAFC, Portland Timbers, and San Jose Earthquakes at the Coachella Valley Invitational. He also played in a closed-door scrimmage against Las Vegas Lights FC and was called up for two Short-Term Agreements with the main Chicago Fire squad during 2025.

In 2024, Konincks started all 24 MLS NEXT Pro matches he played and scored twice from defense. He also played full matches in three Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup games and was called up for four Short-Term Agreements with Chicago Fire that year.
