Chicago Fire FC will play the Philadelphia Union at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania on August 23, 2025. The match begins at 6:30 p.m. CT and will be available to watch on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV. Local radio broadcasts are scheduled for wlsam.com in English and Que Buena Fire via the Uforia App in Spanish. A replay is set to air on Marquee Sports Network on August 25 at 7 p.m. CT.

The Fire, who have scored more goals away from home than any other team in Major League Soccer this season, are currently unbeaten in their last five matches. They aim to rebound from a previous 1-0 loss to Philadelphia that took place at Soldier Field on June 25.

Director of Football and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter has announced his lineup for the match, making only one change from the team that recently drew with LAFC and defeated St. Louis CITY SC. Homegrown defender Christopher Cupps returns for his third start of the season, joining captain Jack Elliott—who makes his first return to Subaru Park since leaving Philadelphia after eight years—alongside Leonardo Barroso and Andrew Gutman in defense.

Midfielder Brian Gutiérrez will make his 101st start for Chicago after scoring a game-winning goal last weekend against St. Louis CITY SC. He lines up with Dje D’Avilla and Sergio Oreger Jr. in midfield.

Winger Philip Zinckernagel is seeking a league-record eleventh consecutive road game with a goal contribution and could tie the club record for assists if he registers his fourteenth tonight. Forward Hugo Cuypers starts for the twenty-sixth time this year as he looks for his sixteenth goal of the season, which would mark the second-highest single-season total in club history. Jonathan Bamba continues his streak of appearances with his twenty-seventh match for Chicago.

Goalkeeper Chris Brady will be aiming for his ninth win and fourth shutout of the season, which would equal last year’s total as his second-best single-season mark.

Unavailable players include midfielders Rominigue Kouamé and David Poreba due to lower body injuries. Newly acquired defender Joel Waterman is not eligible while awaiting receipt of his P-1 visa.

Substitutes available include goalkeeper Jeff Gal; defenders Sam Rogers, Jonathan Dean, Omar González; midfielders Maren Haile-Selassie, André Franco, Mauricio Pineda, Kellyn Acosta; and forward Tom Barlow.
