Chicago Fire FC II lost 1-0 to New York Red Bulls II at MSU Soccer Park in Montclair, New Jersey on August 24, 2025. The defeat keeps Chicago Fire FC II in fourth place in the Eastern Conference with 41 points, trailing Huntsville SC and Philadelphia Union II by two points each. With this win, New York Red Bulls II retained first place in the conference and secured a postseason spot.

The match remained scoreless until the 65th minute when Nate Worth delivered a corner kick that Juan Gutiérrez converted for the only goal of the game. Despite conceding, Chicago goalkeeper David Molenda recorded five saves.
